Neuroplasticity Behaviors And The Human Heart

Neuroplasticity Behaviors And The Human Heart

Dr.Todd Barber

Have you ever wondered why it is so difficult to change your behaviors and habits?  Have you ever asked yourself, why do I continue to come to the same results in my relationships with myself and others?  Or even possibly asked yourself why are my views on religion, politics, health, finances, etc so different or even the exact opposite of others?  The answer may lie in an amazing neurological phenomenon that our central nervous system (Brain and spinal Cord) has called Neural Plasticity.

What is Neural Plasticity?  Neural plasticity has evolved as the study of the plastic and malleable nature of the brain. Rewiring your brain is a dynamic process that happens within the relationship of your mind, brain, and body. They are intricately interconnected as a sophisticated system to ensure your survival and homeostasis. What happens to one of these systems has a direct impact on you and the world around you.

People are just as happy as they make up their minds to be.

— Abraham Lincoln

According to Michael Merzenich from the book,  “The Brain that Changes Itself”, practicing a new habit under the right conditions, can change hundreds of millions and possibly billions of the connections between the nerve cells in our neural pathways. The human brain is made up of an estimated 100 billion neurons making a total of 100 trillion neural connections.

Let’s look at a demonstration of neural plasticity from brain science research. When you engage in practices that increase feelings of happiness, you increase activity in your brain’s left prefrontal cortex. As you continue to feel happy, you strengthen this activity and solidify brain pathways that make it easier to replicate feelings of happiness. People who are optimistic have more activity in their left prefrontal cortex than people who are pessimistic.1 & 2

The study of neural plasticity has opened doors of new possibilities for transforming mental health issues such as depression and anxiety, for changing unhealthy habits, and for increasing the potential of every individual to experience lasting happiness. 3

Brain plasticity appears to be the physiological basis for the possibility of transforming our minds. By mobilizing our thoughts and practicing new ways of being, we can reshape our nerve cells and change the way our brains work.

Mental activity strengthens the neural pathways in your brain associated with what you focus on with your thoughts and feelings. To oversimplify this—but, nonetheless, clearly state what is happening—if you focus on happiness with your thoughts and feelings, you strengthen happiness pathways. If you focus on stress with your thoughts and feelings, you strengthen stress pathways. Every thought you think and feeling you feel, strengthens the circuitry in your brain known as your neural pathways.  Neural pathways are the basis of your habits of thinking, feeling, and acting. They are what you believe to be true and why you do what you do.4

An analogy of Neural Plasticity that may let you see the simplicity and complexity of this neurological process.  Hiking trails are similar to your brain pathways. Just as a grassy path becomes flattened, matted and worn away every time a hiker walks over it, as you focus on something with your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, you strengthen your brain pathways. Over the days, months and years a well-traveled hiking trail becomes a well-worn pathway. Compare this to a trail that is not well-traveled or perhaps a faint trail made by small animals. These trails might be noticeable to the naked eye, however their visibility pales in comparison to the trails that get higher foot traffic.

This is great news for making life altering changes and begin to attract exactly what you desire into your life.

However, this is also why the habits you have had for many years are the most challenging to change. They have carved the most well-worn grooves, or deepest trails, in your brain.

Donald Hebb’s landmark discovery in 1949, “neurons that fire together wire together,” best explains the process of forming, strengthening, and solidifying neural pathways. We experience these pathways as our patterns in important areas of our life such as relationships, food, money, career, health and happiness levels.

Practicing “Heartfulness” thus creating “Mindfulness”.

How do I change my behaviors, actions, thoughts, that are not working for me in my life?

As you practice traveling down new pathways, you naturally weaken old pathways.

As you think similar thoughts and feel similar feelings, you are either creating new habits and beliefs or solidifying old ones. Eventually, through repetition and feeling intensity, your new habits run on autopilot.

Research from the HeartMath Institute shows that when we shift into a coherent state the heart and brain act synergistically like two systems that mesh into one.  As you begin to activate and maintain the synergy between the heart and the brain, stress reducing patterns become actualized and mental clarity and decreased stress response are established.  As you engage in synchronizing your heart and brain, the rewiring of your neural pathways (neural plasticity) allow for the development of  healthy balanced habits, ways of being and new possibilities in your life. The heart and brain begin to act in concert with one another to form new potentials new possibilities and to shift old paradigms and ways of being that have been dysfunctional for you.

Planting your garden

How do I begin to practice Heartfulness?

An analogy of planting a garden feels like a proper analogy to describe living Heartfulness.  In order to create the most beautiful garden one must first clear a space by removing any debris, rocks, weeds, or anything that would prevent healthy growth of the flowers or vegetables that you would like to grow.  You then till the ground and add nutrients to the soil that will allow for the perfect balance for your plants to develop.  The next step is to create rows or areas that you would like your plants to grow in.  These rows allow for organization, healthy growth patterns, beauty, simplicity and coherence to your vision of what your garden will be.  You then choose what you would like to grow in your garden.  It may be a beautiful flower garden with roses, orchids, mums, and daisies.  It may be an herb garden or the a beautiful vegetable garden with wide varieties of delicious veggies. Once you have chosen what will be growing you, plant them, water them, allow for perfect sunlight and you trust that your garden will grow.  As your plants begin to pop up from the soil, there may be some weeds that show up, so you pull those weeds and maintain the perfect growing environment for your beautiful garden.  You “tend” your garden, you consciously go out and check on the health and growth of your plants and you know and trust that nature will create the most perfect outcome for you.

To begin to practice and create your garden of Heartfulnes and Mindfulness in a synchronized cohesive way, you must first clear the space of debris.  This debris may be pain (emotional or physical), victimization, beliefs about yourself or your body, recognizing relationships that are not working for you, addiction (both thoughts and actions), etc.  Some of this debris may be deep rooted and may require great “tending” or great moment to moment consciousness to eradicate from your garden.

This removing of old paradigms and creating new paradigms is the process of neural plasticity.  You may have worn deep grooves, possibly as deep as the grand canyon, in your nervous system that cause you to arrive at specific conclusions in your life that have been emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually destructive to you.  The beauty of neural plasticity is that as you remove the debris, tend your soil, plant your garden, water and allow for sunlight, you develop new ways of being, new neurological pathways and new potentials and possibility for your life.  To be the master gardener of your life it takes great consciousness and commitment to what you are creating.  As you practice heart and mind coherence the old paradigms (neural circuits) will soften and give way to new beautiful paradigms and new pathways of possibilities.

Will the old neural pathways still be there?  They will be there but they are simply a beautiful reminder of how far you have come, what you have learned, and the expansion and creation of your beautiful life.  Always remember you are the master gardner, and It is your garden and you can change it anytime you want.

For many years we have been taught that the brain is leading the show in our lives.  Science is now beginning to recognize that there is another major player in the formation of our life  paradigms.  That player is the human heart.  The intuitive intelligence of the heart is directly linked to your path of personal, emotional, mental, physical and spiritual health.  The heart intelligence opens the door for social and global coherence.  It is the connective source to all relationships and most importantly the relationship with yourself.

According to the HeartMath Institute, “heart intelligence is the flow of intuitive awareness, understanding and inner guidance we experience when the mind and emotions are brought into coherent alignment with the heart. It can be activated through self-initiated practice. The more coherent we are and the more we pay attention to this deeper intuitive inner guidance, the greater our ability to access this intelligence more frequently. Heart intelligence underlies cellular organization and guides and evolves organisms toward increased order, awareness and coherence of their bodies’ systems.  heart coherence, heart-rhythm coherence, physiological coherence, social coherence and global coherence. Coherence, in any system, from the human body to social affairs, refers to a logical, orderly and harmonious connectedness between parts of a system or between people.

When we speak of heart-rhythm coherence or physiological coherence, we are referring to a specific assessment of the heart’s rhythms that appears as smooth, ordered and sine-wavelike patterns. From a physics perspective, when we are in a coherent state, virtually no energy is wasted because our systems are performing optimally and there is synchronization between heart rhythms, the respiratory system, blood-pressure rhythms, etc.

Among the many benefits of personal coherence are increased composure, more energy, clear thinking, enhanced immune-system function and hormonal balance.  Each of us is capable of achieving, increasing and maintaining our personal and social coherence. One of the simplest and quickest paths to personal heart coherence is through the intentional self-generation of positive feelings such as compassion, care, love and other renewing types of emotions. In contrast, we can quickly become incoherent when we experience attitudes and emotions such as anger, fear and anxiety.”

Many Cultures and people have practiced heart and mind coherence.  Meditation, yoga, prayer, exercise, healthy sexual relationships, nature and breathing have all been a dynamic pathway to open the door to heart and mind connection.

I invite you to take a look at your life, your dysfunctional paradigms, those areas where you would like to experience abundance and practice the art of Heartfulness.  The key word in that last sentence is to “practice”.  The word practice implies that you will always be learning and expanding your ability to create your life by leading with your heart, by listening to your intuition and engaging in life with your beautiful mind with clarity and purpose.

To me life is an ever expanding circle of possibilities, much like a pebble in a pond, it expands out in perfect symmetry as I practice my Heartfulness.  I would love to see what you create as you engage from your heart.

The Love Frequency

We use the word love to describe so many different relationships.  There is brotherly love, there is sisterly love, there is motherly and fatherly love, there is friendship type of love, there is the love we have for our children, there is romantic love, there is I love my dog kind of love, there is the “forgive them for they know not what they do” type of of love, and the “of you that is without sin cast the first stone type of love”.

Love exists without condition, without expectation and it celebrates that existence is.

The Love Frequency, according to Dr. Leonard Horowitz, is 528 Hertz.  This frequency is central to the “musical mathematical matrix of creation.”  More than any sound previously discovered, the “Love frequency” resonates at the heart of everything.

Love is inherently free. It cannot be bought, sold, or traded. You cannot make someone love you, nor can you prevent it, for any amount of money. Love cannot be imprisoned nor can it be legislated. Love is not a substance, not a commodity, nor even a marketable power source. Love has no territory, no borders, no quantifiable mass.  It is simply a state of being that is readily available for one to share and receive.  Love is the elixir of joy and the antidote of pain.  Love fuels the fire of passion.  Love lifts us from our mind based limitations and propels us into our infinite potential.  Love transcends time and space.  Love transmutes differences and prejudices.  Love heals all wounds.  Love seems to be the literal song of the universe.

Dr. Shirley Marshall Ph.D., author of the book “Sacred Secrets” writes, “When we live in the love vibration, our energy resonates at a high frequency and we express the God-qualities of compassion, forgiveness, tolerance, respect, generosity, joy, peace—all that inspires, empowers and enhances life. The love vibration lifts us to a higher state of consciousness and frees us of the thoughts, feelings, and actions that minimize and victimize us. Gone are any neurotic fear, guilt, judgment, greed, envy, arrogance, and the ego’s stubborn need to be right. “Vexations of the spirit” lose their power over us. Free from the baggage of negativity and limited thinking, we begin to feel lighter and shine brighter. We become the magnet attracting our good.”

Unconditional Love is not just an emotion; it is the energy of Creation.  Your own creative spark is both infinite and eternal. When we are open to this state of consciousness, the self is infinite and life becomes magical.

It is this connection with your own inner knowing, your wisdom, that has always been there for you, that creates and defines all of Life. This is what you reflect into your external, everyday material world. Once you remember how to bring both inner and outer world into alignment, life becomes so simple.

The fact that my heart beats, my cells divide, and my lungs fill with oxygen without my conscious input, speaks to me of unconditional love.  There is a force that perpetuates life and to me that force can be described as unconditional love.  Life simply happens.  In sanskrit it is called Prana or life force.  This force is at the heart of all existence and all creation.  We are that force and it can be trusted because it exists and comes to us without condition.

The poet Helen Steiner Rice wrote:

“Love is like magic and it always will be.

For love still remains life’s sweet mystery.

Love works in ways that are wondrous and strange

And there is nothing in life that love cannot change.

Love can transform the most commonplace

Into beauty and splendor and sweetness and grace.

Love is unselfish, understanding and kind,

For it sees with its heart and not with its mind.

Love is the answer that everyone seeks…

Love is the language that every heart speaks.

Love can’t be bought; it is priceless and free,

Love, like pure magic is life’s sweet mystery.”

No matter what language is spoken, the energy, frequency and vibration of love is felt by all hearts and transmutes common life into a universe of infinite possibilities.  Paul Coelho stated “Love is just a word until someone comes along and gives it meaning”.  You are that someone.

The Brain of God- Duality and Non Duality

“All is waves, with nothing waving, over no distance at all” (The Infinity Concerto).  I love this quote as a poetic description of quantum physics– deep down, everything in the universe has wave nature.

The spiritual seeker often makes a fundamental error: that of believing duality (the everyday perception of things, events and self as separate entities) and nonduality (the awakened perspective in which all separation is seen to be an illusion) to be at opposite ends of the spectrum of consciousness. This false perspective perpetuates the myth, handed down by the patriarchal paradigm, that creates a division between an imaginary transcendent state of being in which only the perfection of bliss prevails, and the messy, chaotic and often painful earthly world.  Even in the recognition of awakeness, there is frequently a subtle but pernicious avoidance of the blood, sweat and tears of the human experience. The fullness of awakening comes when awakeness has descended from mind to heart to body, and every cell of your being now dances and sings with the joy of this realization: this cannot happen without the deepest acceptance of duality. The awesome mystery of consciousness expressing itself as both dual and nondual is perplexing and unacceptable to the linear thinking mind. But it becomes a doorway to the inexpressible when we shift to holistic way of experiencing reality as both dual and non-dual.

Today, as more people awaken and then wonder how to live the truth of awakening, this shift is becoming an imperative.  This is a sign of the feminine frequency in which our earthly experience is wholeheartedly included in the play of consciousness.  The feminine frequency is nurturing, healing, open, loving and life giving.  It is this frequency that has permeated the awakened being and has loosed the shackles of dogma, belief, and control.  This feminine frequency is calling us into a new conversations about how the truth of awakeness is experienced and expressed in everyday life.

The study of physics, biology, mathematics, physiology, etc. over the last 100 years has pointed its way to the harmonic reality of the dual and non dual nature of our existence.  Dr. John Hagelin states, “Progress in theoretical physics during the past half century or more has led to a progressively more unified understanding of the laws of nature, culminating in the recent discovery of completely unified field theories based on the superstring. These theories identify a single universal, unified field at the basis of all forms and phenomena in the universe.

At the same time, cutting-edge research in the field of neuroscience has revealed the existence of a ‘unified field of consciousness’—a fourth major state of human consciousness, which is physiologically and subjectively distinct from waking, dreaming and deep sleep. In this meditative state, a.k.a. Samadhi, the threefold structure of waking experience—the observer, the observed and the process of observation—are united in one indivisible wholeness of pure consciousness.”

These parallel discoveries of a unified field of physics and a unified field of consciousness raise fundamental questions concerning the relationship between the two. There is compelling theoretical and experimental evidence that the unified field of physics and the unified field of consciousness are identical—i.e., that during the meditative state, human awareness directly experiences the unified field at the foundation of the universe.

It has been proposed that the identity between pure consciousness and the unified field may be required to account for experimentally observed “field effects of consciousness”.  In the published results of a National Demonstration Project—in which 4,000 advanced meditators markedly reduced violent crime in Washington, DC.  The results of this project seem to show mechanisms from quantum mechanics, quantum field theory, and superstring theory that may explain the proposed link between human neurophysiology and the unified field of physics.

The human brain and its measurable neuronal firing is simply the second person perspective of the first person experience (inner life).  Therefore, the brain is a material system like the rest of the cosmos, then the cosmos, too, must be the second person perspective of the cosmic inner life.  Then could it mean, and it seems to stand up to reason, that the cosmos may be the literal “brain of God”?

Letter to Alexis Caroline

July 4, 2017

Hi sweetheart,

I am writing this letter to tell you how my heart feels about you. One of the greatest gifts of my life has been to watch you grow. From the first moment I saw you my heart has never been the same. To be a daddy is a beautiful gift in life, but to be a daddy of a beautiful little girl is heavenly. The divine gifts that you brought with you will change the world. You are a kind, compassionate, loving, peaceful, powerful, beautiful light. Shine your beautifully unique light wherever you go and whatever you do in life.

Live your life in this moment. Time is an illusion. History does not exist and the future will take care of itself, but to live now, in this moment, is where life holds its true meaning. Live all your dreams, ideas, desires and purpose. Do exactly what you want to do in life. Listen to your inner knowing, your intuition, it is the essence of who you are. Your knowing will guide you to infinite possibilities and opportunities in life.

You are a child of creation. Enjoy the beauty of each sunrise, the magnificence of each sunset and the thrills of life that will come between them. See the world, dance in the rain, sing from the mountaintops, swim in the oceans of the world, learn of other cultures, languages and people and celebrate each day that existence is a beautiful gift and you are here to love and experience it all.

Always remember that you CAN’T mess life up. In those moments when you feel like a failure or have disappointments, let it all pass from you like the wake from the back of a sailboat. Disappointments, pain, frustration will pass behind you beautifully and peacefully if you simply “let it go”…. remember that’s our song from the movie “Frozen”.

I love this little poem…

Never trust a mirror,
For a mirror always lies,
It makes you think that all your worth,
Can be seen from the outside.
Never trust a mirror,
It only shows you what ‘s skin deep,
You can’t see how your eyelids flutter,
When you are drifting off to sleep,
It doesn’t show you what the world sees,
When you are being you,
Or how your eyes just light up,
When you are loving what you do,
It doesn’t capture when you are smiling,
Where no one else can see,
And your reflection cannot tell you,
Everything you mean to me,
Never trust a mirror,
For it only show your skin,
And if you think that it dictates your worth,
It is time you looked within. ~E.H.

Well sweetness I am sure you have other things to do besides read a silly letter from your dad. I really just wanted to tell you that I love you, you make my heart dance, you take my breath away, and you make me so proud. I am forever grateful you chose me to be your daddy.

I love you Miss Alexis Caroline.

Love your dad.

The Marriage Relationship

I heard it once said, “marriage is friendship on fire.”  It truly is

From the book the Alchemist is is written, “I love you because the entire universe conspired to help me find you”.

To me the marriage relationship represents the pureness, the sweetness, the determined, the resilient, the trusting, the celebration and the perfection of love.  Love will always find its way to cry, laugh, forgive, and celebrate that life is meant to find those that make our soul sing.

As I considered what to say today the words celebration, courage, healing, family and second chance at love kept coming to me.

Your relationship, your Marriage and your life together is a celebration of each others uniqueness, beauty, and passion.  It is a celebration that life and existence is.

It has been said, “A man or woman who opens their heart to love you, when their heart has been already broken by loss and death, is braver than any person you will ever meet”.

Today is a celebration of the purity and eternal nature of love.  To me love transcends all space and time.  Love is a bridge that links hearts and heals souls between all dimensions of existence.

Today we also celebrate the love of those you have loved in this life and have moved from this reality to the next.  You now link your hearts with theirs.

There is something uniquely divine about two people choosing to share their lives with one another.  It has been said that the future is guaranteed to no one… so daily and even moment to moment celebrate that life and each other are precious gifts.

The reason we are here today is because of love.

But What is love?

We use the word love to describe so many different relationships.  There is brotherly love, there is sisterly love, there is motherly and fatherly love, there is friendship type of love, there is the love we have for our children, there is romantic love, there is I love my dogs “Louie and Remy” kind of love, there is the “forgive them for they know not what they do” type of of love, and the “of you that is without sin cast the first stone” type of love.

Love exists without condition, without expectation and it celebrates that existence is.

When you use the following words frequently in your marriage; you will be richly blessed:

Thank You,

I am sorry,

Please forgive me,

I love you.

Remember, “perspective is in the eye of the beholder”, Therefore, when you can see a situation or event through the eyes of another you will have true empathy.

It has been said that, “Better than a thousand hollow words, is one word that brings peace”.  So in your relationship, Be and speak peacefully.

William Shakespeare said, “Expectation is the root of all heartache.”

As you live life without expectations, everything that you receive in your life becomes a gift.

Marriage is the one relationship in life that you learn the most about yourself.

Recognize your personal accountability in all arguments, misunderstandings, and problems.

Look very closely and identify your accountability.  This is the beginning of forgiveness and peace.

Accountability creates honesty and trust in any relationship but most of all in a marriage relationship.

The key to accountability is humility.

Humility is a quality of character that is sometimes misunderstood.  People often equate humility with meekness, weakness, or passive behavior.

To the contrary, humility is a quality of strength and is a high level maturity.

Humility is the habit of living in the truth.

“The humble man or woman sees themselves as they really are.  They acknowledge their weaknesses and shortcomings, but also their strengths and abilities.”

Marriage is a relationship in which our ability to live in humility is often tested.   Marriage will reveal your level of maturity more than any other relationship.

The intensity of the marriage relationship, with intimacy and familiarity unlike any other relationship often brings out the best and the worst in us.

It is the perfect place to practice habits of humility.

Admitting when we are wrong, showing grace to our partner, and practicing gentleness, respect, and patience are essential to a happy marriage.

Be the first to apologize.  Come from a space of kindness, humility and love even if the other is not ready to apologize yet.

Nothing extinguishes the fire of an argument quicker than the words… I am sorry.

When your actions are motivated by love, the least effort is expended.  However, when you seek power and control over another, you waste energy and the flow of love is impeded.

~From the ancient Sanskrit it is written…

“Look to this day.

For it is life,

The very life of life…

For yesterday is only a dream,

And tomorrow is only a vision

But today, well lived,

Makes every yesterday a dream of happiness,

And every tomorrow a vision of hope.”

Service is the purest form of love… so serve one another.

Be grateful everyday for the gift of each other.

When you show each other gratitude, humility, kindness and love, your love for each other will grow forever.

The Wedding ring is the most famous and instantly recognizable symbol of joining of a man and a woman as husband and wife in the relationship of marriage, it has a long, wide spread and mysterious history.

Its beginnings lie in the deserts of North Africa, where the ancient Egyptian civilization sprang up along the fertile flood plains of the river Nile.

This river was bringer of all fortune and life to the Pharaoh’s people and from plants growing on its’ riverbanks were the first wedding rings fashioned.

The ring is of course a circle and this was the symbol of eternity for the Egyptians as well as many other ancient cultures.  It had no beginning and no end, like time.

It returned to itself, like life. The shape was worshipped in the form of the Sun and the Moon.

The hole in the center of the ring is not just space; it is important in its own right as the symbol of the gateway, or door; leading to things and events both known and unknown, seen and unseen.

In closing, I would like to share something that was written 600 years before the time of Christ by an ancient Chinese philosopher by the name of Lao Tzu called “Always Return”.

“It is good to know your strength

But always return to your flexibility

If you cradle your beloved in your arms

In nurturing gentleness,

Love will flow through you.

It is good to achieve things

But always return to anonymity.

Your beloved does not need your achievements

But needs your uncomplicated soul.

It is good to work for change,

But always return to what is.

If you accept all things whether painful or joyful

You will always know

That you belong to each other

For me this day and your relationship can be summarized by the following quote:

“For it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart.  It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul.”

I am honored and blessed to share this special day with you.  You are the very reason I love doing weddings.  Love for me is like magic.  Love heals all wounds, it speaks to me of eternity, it gives me strength to stand in my power and it is the one place that I am truly grateful to be me…

The Law of Vibration

The Law of vibration may not be as well known as the Law of Attraction.  However, the Law of Vibration serves as the foundation for the Law of Attraction.

Everything in the universe is energy.  As we travel down through the sub atomic level we find pure potential energy.   It has been described as the unified field, quantum field, and an ocean of pure potentiality.

This Universal Law of vibration states that everything in the Universe moves and vibrates, everything is vibrating at one frequency or another. Nothing rests. Everything you see around you, including you, is vibrating at one frequency or another.  However, your unique frequency is unlike any other frequency in the universe – hence it seems like you are separated from what you see around you – people, animals, plants, trees, etc.  However you are not separate.  You are an ocean of energy, pure limitless potentiality.  We simply individualize ourselves through the filtration of our nervous systems.  But at our most fundamental level we are one.   A unified field of Harmonic vibrational interactions that create limitless potentialities.  These potentialities are activated and made manifest by observation and choice.

The law of vibration states that anything that exists in our universe, whether seen or unseen, broken down into and analyzed in it’s purest and most basic form, consists of pure energy or light (photons) which resonates and exists as a vibratory frequency or pattern. All matter, as well as thoughts and feelings, has its own vibrational frequency. The thoughts, feelings and actions we choose also have their own particular rates of vibration. These vibrations will set up resonance with whatever possesses identical frequency. In other words, your thoughts and emotions are inseparably connected to the rest of the universe. “Like attracts like”.  The idea that opposites attract is actually a falsehood.

Everything in the manifest universe is ultimately composed of packets of energy; quantized units vibrating at specific frequencies. Quantum physicists has shown that, although matter may appear to be solid, when you look at it through a high-powered microscope, so that it is broken down into its smallest components: molecules, atoms, neutrons, electrons and quanta (the smallest particles measurable), it is ultimately mostly empty space interspersed with energy.  Everything, including you and me is essentially comprised of empty space packed with pure potential energy.  Objects that appears solid on the quantum level are nearly completely empty space.

For us, thought and emotion is where it all begins. As my conscious mind dwells habitually on thoughts of a certain quality, these become firmly imbedded within the subconscious mind. They become the dominant vibration.  This has also been called neural plasticity.  Which means you have the ability to create elastic, flexible and pliable thoughts, emotions, and habits or rigid, dense, and unalterable emotions, thoughts and habits.  This is exactly how cognitive dissonance occurs, when an alternate opinion or idea comes into conflict with a preconceived idea, belief, world view, religion, etc etc.  Either you fight the new information or be flexible to it and be open to new possibilities.  This dominant vibration sets up a resonance with other similar vibrations and draws them into your life.  Your thought and emotional vibrations effect everything around you,  your environment, the people and animals around you, the inanimate objects, even the seemingly ‘empty’ space and they, in turn, affect you.

Your feeling at the present moment dictates your vibration.  It is said that feeling is a word to define the conscious awareness of vibration.

Everything that we experience with our five physical senses is conveyed through vibration.  Thoughts and feelings have specific vibrational frequencies, therefore what you feel, think, and dwell on you will create.

The Great Nothingness

All things come from the great nothingness, but within this nothingness contains everything that there is.

Stop striving and know you have already arrived.  There is no use in planning for a future.  When you get to the future and it becomes the present you won’t be there.  You will be living in some other future that has not yet arrived.  So in this way you are never able to enjoy the fruits of your life if you are always striving for some future reward.  You cannot live at all unless you can live fully now.

You are the fabric and structure of existence itself. Underneath the superficial self that pays attention to this and that, there is another self, more really us than I… The more you become aware of the unknown self… the more you realize that it is inseparably connected to everything else that there is.

You are a function of this total galaxy, bounded by the milky way and this galaxy is a function of all other galaxies.  One day you will wake up and look at the night sky and say… Why that is me! and in knowing this, know that you will never die.

You are the eternal thing that comes and goes.  The experience you are having that we call ordinary everyday consciousness pretending that you are not it… that experience is the exact same thing as it.  There is no difference at all.

The source of all light is in the eye… if there were no eyes in this world the sun would not be light.  You evoke light out of the universe in the same you way you determine what is hard in relation to your soft skin.  Hardness and heaviness is all determined by lightness and softness.

It is your ear drum that evokes noise out of the air.  You by being this organism call into being this whole universe of light and color, hardness and heaviness and everything.

Each one of us is an aperture in which the whole universe looks out, only the game we are playing is not to know this.

What you call the external world is as much you as your own body.  Your skin does not separate you from the world it is a bridge from which the external world flows into you and you flow into it.

What you are is the fabric and structure of existence itself and when you find this out you laugh yourself silly.

The beauty of Nothingness.  If you really go the whole way and see how you feel about the prospect of vanishing forever…  With all your efforts and all you achievements turning to dust… nothingness.  What is the feeling?  What happens to you?  That is what it is all going to come to and for some reason or another we are supposed to find this depressing.  Do you see in a way that this is saying that the most real state is the state of nothingness?

If someone is going to argue that the basic reality is the state of nothingness, where did everything come from?  Obviously it came from nothingness.  Once again you get how it looks behind your eyes.  So in this way by seeing that nothingness is the fundamental reality…you see it is your reality.  Then how can anything really terminate?

The idea of you being put out and scared and worried is just nothing… it is just a dream, because you are really nothing, but this is the most incredible nothing.

So cheer up…  the essence of your mind is intrinsically pure…pure means clear/void.

If you think of this nothingness as mere blankness, and you hold onto the idea of blankness and you are kind of grizzly about it, you have not understood it…

This nothingness is like the nothingness of space which contains the whole universe. All is contained within this void and out of this void comes everything, and you are it!

What else could you Be?

You Define I

The earth is not a big rock infested with living organisms anymore than your skeleton is bones infested with cells.  The earth is geological, but this geological entity grows people and our existence on this earth is a function of the solar system and its balances.

When you as a scientist describes the behavior of a living organism, you say what a organism does, this is the only way you can describe what an organism is.  Describe what they do.  And then you find out that by making this description you cannot confine yourself to only what happens in while in your skin.  You cannot talk about a person walking unless you start describing the floor.  I move in relationship to the territory.  Talking must be described by you being the one I am speaking to.  In order to describe my behavior, I must describe your behavior and the behavior of the environment, it means that we only have one system of behavior.

That what I am involves what what you are… I dont know who I am unless I know who you are.  And you don’t know who you are unless you know who I am.

A wise Rabi once said…”If I am I because you are you and you are you because I am I…Then I am not I and you are not You”.  We are not separate… we define each other… We are all backs and fronts to each other.  We are implicit to each other.

We and our environment and all of us and each other and interdependent systems… We know who we are in terms of other people

We are in great need of coming to feel that we are the eternal universe.
